Rainfall explorer
See how depth, area, and a stated assumption change a simple model.
The calculation
Rain depth in millimeters × area in square meters = rainfall volume in liters. Multiply that volume by the chosen fraction to model runoff. One millimeter across one square meter is one liter.
Model limit: the fractions are invented classroom scenarios, not measured values for a particular surface. The model does not predict drainage safety, flooding, or how the remaining water is divided among other processes.
